Coca Cola’s Enterprise Leader Program
The Coca-Cola Company is a beverage company, manufacturer, distributor, and marketer of non-alcoholic beverage concentrates and syrups. The company is most popularly recognized for its leading product Coca-Cola. The Coca-Cola recipe and brand was purchased in 1889 by Asa Candler who associated it with The Coca-Cola Company just three years later. Besides its steeple Coca-Cola beverage, Coca-Cola currently offers more than 400 brands in over 200 countries or territories and serves 1.6 billion servings each day.
The Coca Cola Company venture is established on a distribution method in which they only produce the syrup concentrate, which is then purchased to bottlers around the world. In April 2008, Dr. Zunaira Munir was a featured keynote speaker as part of Coca-Cola’s Enterprise Leader Program in Istanbul, Turkey. The presentation included an engaging and informative introduction to Blue Ocean Strategy, its logic application and effectiveness for Coca-Cola’s mid to upper level executives. Dr. Munir’s insight as she continues to work on various Blue Ocean Strategy projects and initiatives worldwide included recent Blue Ocean Strategy examples that have taken place after the release of the book in 2005. She focused on challenging traditional business strategies as she strived to help clarify where participants’ companies are and where they want to be.
CFO Coca-Cola Japan said about Dr. Munir’s presentation, "Your talk on Blue Ocean Strategy is a source of inspiration as we clarify our thinking about where we want to be and how we plan to get there. I have referred back to the materials on a number of occasions and found them to be of great help in formalizing our thoughts."
