Honeywell is a major conglomerate fortune company that produces a variety of consumer products, engineering services, and aerospace systems for a wide variety of customers. Their customers include private consumers to major corporations and governments. Honeywell has a workforce of approximately 128,000, of which approximately 58,000 are employed in the United States.
In September of 2009, Dr. Zunaira Munir conducted a web-based training seminar for Honeywell, Inc. executives. The seminar focused on the theoretical and practical aspects of Blue Ocean Strategy. The training prepared their executives to understand, formulate and implement the different Blue Ocean Strategy tools and frameworks. Honeywell specializes in many different areas and has many brands that consumers may recognize. However, an important part of the Blue Ocean Strategy workshop focused on the non customers particularly in the competitive engineering and aerospace systems fields. Dr. Munir trained participants to recognize limitations of their existing approach to growth and profitability, formulate and execute Blue Ocean Strategy to generate new strategic growth options by creating uncontested market space, drive costs down while simultaneously driving value up, and how to identify noncustomers and convert them into customers.
