University of California Irvine Blue Ocean Strategy Public Enrollment Training Session

Senior Global Blue Ocean Strategy Member Dr. Zunaira Munir conducted a Blue Ocean Strategy executive training session at the University of California Irvine on August 5, 2010. The program was part of The Paul Merage Business School’s Strategic Issues in Management Series. UC Irvine offers forward-thinking seminars with certification options geared towards managers and administrators who want to sharpen management skills and enhance their careers.

Dr. Munir trained participants to recognize limitations of their existing approach to growth and profitability, formulate and execute Blue Ocean Strategy to generate new strategic growth options by creating uncontested market space, drive costs down while simultaneously driving value up, and how to identify noncustomers and convert them into customers.

Companies have long engaged in head-head competition in search of sustained profitable growth. To seize new profit and growth opportunities, companies must create blue oceans of new market space where the objective is to not compete head-to-head but to make competition irrelevant.

UC Irvine’s Strategic Issues in Management Series offers one, two, four and 8 session options which included Social Media Expert Scott Fox’s ‘Social Media Survival Skills.’ The program covered how to prioritize your social media marketing for greatest business impact while integrating social media with existing marketing campaigns. Fox focused on implementing cost-effective strategies to help participants connect better with customers and clients to develop the policies needed to grow and protect companies’ brand online successfully.
