December 9, 2009 - Dr. Munir led a 1.5 hour interactive session about Blue Ocean Strategy’s application to non-profits at the “Non-Profit Day” being celebrated by Southern California’s Center for Non-Profit Management in Los Angeles. The day honored individuals that exemplied great nonprofit and civic leadership and focused on finding bold new strategies for uncommon times for the non-profit sector. Dr. Munir spoke about upending traditional thinking about strategy with Blue Ocean Strategy to chart a bold new path to winning the future The six principles of the strategy show how to reconstruct market boundaries, focus on the big picture, reach beyond existing demand, get the strategic sequence right, overcome organizational hurdles, and build execution into strategy. Katherina Rosqueta, Executive Director of The Center for High Impact Philanthropy in the School of Social Policay & Practice at Penn, modeled how business, government and the nonprofit sectors can work together to have greater impact in challenging economic times.
