- The AAF Cedar Rapids Chapter Annual Conference was held in Iowa in November 2007. Dr. Zunaira Munir was a featured keynote Speaker on the topic of Blue Ocean Strategy. The presentation included an engaging and informative introduction to Blue Ocean Strategy, its logic application and effectiveness for local mid to upper level executives. Dr. Munir's insight as she worked as a visiting research at INSEAD under Blue Ocean Strategy authors and co-founders W. Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne used Blue Ocean Strategy examples from the book which was released in 2005. She focused on challenging traditional business strategies as she strived to help clarify where participants' companies are and where they want to be.
- American Advertisement Federation Cedar Rapids President said about Dr. Munir's presentation, "I want to thank you again for your great session. I have already received many positive e-mails and messages regarding the content of your talk. I thought your examples were great and I know many people are now thinking about how the Blue Ocean Strategy can be applied to their industry. I already have people in my company thinking of ways to think outside the box to create blue oceans."
